Gudbjörg Lind Jónsdóttir deals in her works with issues of stasis and time. Her landscapes treat her subject matter in a way that draws on representativeness yet remains subjective. She fictionalises her Icelandic prototypes onto the canvas.
Jónsdóttir studed at the Icelandic school of Arts and Crafts , Reykjavík , Iceland from 1979-1988. She has exhibited in many countries and her work is held in a number of public collections in Iceland and elsewhere. Jónsdóttir is a member of the board of The Icelandic National Gallery. She was chair of the board of The Society of Icelandic Visual Artists from 1996 – 2000.
